Everybody will continue to study at least one language in Year 9 as part of your Core Curriculum.   If you have been studying one foreign language in Year 8, you will continue with the same language in Year 9.  If you have been studying two foreign languages in Year 8, you will also need to decide which of them you will continue to learn in Year 9 – or you can continue with both (by using one of your options slots for the second language).    This video will give you a good taste of what studying a foreign language in year 10 and 11 will be like, so be sure to watch it if you think you may want to continue a language right through to GCSE.

Everybody will continue to study PE in year 9, but there is still a decision to be made. On your options form you will need to choose between Core PE or Pre-GCSE PE / Cambridge National. If you do the Pre-GCSE PE/ Cambridge National Course in Year 9 you will have the opportunity to opt for either GCSE PE or Cambridge National Sport Studies in Years 10 and 11. If you do not choose the Pre-GCSE PE / Cambridge National Course in Year 9, you will continue with Core PE lessons throughout Years 9, 10 and 11. This choice will not use up one of your options.
