Years 10 & 11 Curriculum - PE - Core
Core PE is a non-examined subject, compulsory for ALL students.
Content

Within Years 10 and 11, students’ performance and understanding will be developed and extended from Year 9. Students will have the opportunity to plan and evaluate their tactics and performance in competition. Furthermore, they will be expected to take on roles of responsibility such as coach/captain/umpire.
For Year 10 students we are offer the Sports Leader Qualification for students to opt for. This is a recognised level 1 qualification. The aim of the course is to develop confident, healthy leaders through sport and physical activity. There is a charge for this course.
As students move into Year 11, they will be able to opt for a PE Pathway to allow all students to enjoy PE lessons, have fun and stay active. Pathways we have previously offered include ‘The Big 4’, Relaxed Games, Fitness and Female Only.
Throughout the year students will be assessed against the criteria below:
- Effort
- Behaviour
- Skill
- Bringing kit
With the following grading:
- 1 excellent
- 2 good
- 3 satisfactory
- 4 poor
